Query to rename Item Pictures

We used a query to update all of our items pictures so the picture it was looking for was ItemLookupCode.jpg

We are now trying to get the Child items to look for the Parent picture.  The Child items are have the same ILC just with an EA at the end.

Example;

Parent item and picture file ... 123456 - 123456.jpg

Child item and picture file ... 123456EA - 123456EA.jpg

Is it possible to run a query that would find & replace the 'EA.jpg' with '.jpg' ?

Or am I better off bringing my item list into Excel, making the Find & Replace change, and then uploading the changes in a CSV?
